Project Overview

Wink began as a dating app but evolved into a dynamic social platform focused on clubs, group events, and real-world interactions. The core idea was to create a digital space that makes it easy for users to find their people—whether it's a local book club, a music jam, or a startup meetup. The goal was to design an engaging mobile experience that balances discovery, community-building, and real-time interaction. I led the end-to-end product design process: from redefining user flows to crafting high-fidelity UI for onboarding, event exploration, and club participation.

Challenges & My Role in Solving Them

Transitioning from a dating model to a club-based social ecosystem came with several design challenges. We had to rethink the entire product architecture, from profile structure to content discovery and safety. As the product designer, I was responsible for: - Reimagining the onboarding to match the new social focus - Designing a clean, dynamic feed for exploring clubs and events - Creating systems for user engagement, event interaction, and community trust - Maintaining clarity and playfulness in the visual identity Through iterative design, wireframes, prototyping, and user feedback, I helped the team define a clear direction and shape a product that feels both social and intentional.

Final Outcome & Reflections

The redesigned Wink app successfully transitioned from a dating experience into a vibrant social platform. The final result was a clean, modern mobile interface that supports real identity, group connection, and playful exploration. This project taught me the importance of staying flexible during product pivots and how to design systems that scale from individuals to communities. It also sharpened my ability to solve UX problems while maintaining a fun, approachable visual tone.
